Open Protocols, Assessments, and Data

As part of my PhD research at MIT, I developed a variety of experimental protocols and assessments. You can find these and information about associated projects below! Full citations and PDFs for all papers mentioned below can be found on my publications page.

Assessments for measuring children's relationships with social robots

I spent several years creating and testing new ways of assessing children's perceptions of social robots, in particular children's construal of a robot's animacy and human-likeness, their acceptance of robots with limitations, their view of a robot as a social-relational other, and their long-term relationships. This work was done as part of my dissertation on Relational AI [PDF].

As part of one project on second language learning with social robots (study PDF, interviews PDF ), Goren Gordon and I interviewed teachers about their views on the use of social robots in the classroom. The questions we used are here:

Study materials

During my PhD at MIT, I helped design and run more than ten experimental child-robot interaction studies. Below are some of the materials, protocols, and questionnaires from the studies in my master's thesis [PDF] and dissertation [PDF].
